The Micro-E coating is an engineering extension of the Electrolizing® coating. Micro-E incorporates a multi-step cleaning process along with modified coating application techniques that result in a very hard (72 Rc) but thin surface finish.
The target deposit thickness of the Micro-E coating is specified from .000050" to .0003" per surface, depending on customer requirements. This thin, precise deposit eliminates dimensional changes and the potential for edge build-up.
Micro-E orders are subject to the latest advancements in inspection such as the x-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF). The XRF provides an extremely accurate, non-destructive method to ensure deposit thickness is in specification.
